A

British taxes made American unhappy.
War against France was expensive so Britain wanted America to help pay.
The stamp act brought tax
Americans disagreed with the tax and set up the stamp act congress.
No taxation without representation

The Boston massacre?

A

English ended stamp act but still taxed on imported goods such as tea and glass this was called the townshend act
Americansrefused to pay tax so smuggled the goods.
Boston people taught with soldiers over smuggling. Soldiers fought back with fire and people were killed
British removed taxes on everything except tea and some (patriots) believed America should run their own affairs

Men dressed as native Americans boarded British ships and threw tea overboard
Boston port closed until colonist payed for tea but they refused

A

Militas (colony soldiers who were nicknamed minute men as they were ready to take action with short notice) were against British
General gage worried by their actions
Heard they were getting supplies from concord so sent his troops there
Spies warned the militias about them so they were ready to fight at Lexington when they met and also for a further battle at concord
British returned to Boston surrounded by patriots
