When someone uses an individual’s spiritual beliefs to manipulate, dominate, or control that person.
What is cultural violence?
When an individual is harmed as a result of practices that are part of her or his culture, religion, or tradition.
What is verbal abuse?
When a person uses language, whether spoken or written, to cause harm to a person.
What is financial abuse?
The withholding of financial support or the illegal or improper exploitation of funds or other resources for one’s personal gain.
What is neglect?
Failure to provide basic needs for a dependant. Includes physical neglect (failure to provide for basic needs or to protect from harm), emotional neglect (failure to attend to basic emotional needs and nurturing), educational neglect (failure to provide a child with experiences, including formal education necessary for intellectual growth and development), and medical neglect (failure to provide basic medical, dental, or psychiatric care).
What is intimate partner violence/domestic violence?
Violence against spouses and dating partners in current and former relationships
