Sign interpreter, auxiliary aids and services, text telephones, teletypewriters, telephone handset amplifiers, assistive listening systems, videotext displays
What are basic techniques for safely detaining a subject suffering from visual or hearing impairment?
For visual let them know what is occurring and what is about to happen. Once cuffed guide them.
For hearing impairment explain to them why they need to be handcuff first and that handcuffs will be removed before any more communication.
How can a LEO place themselves in an unsafe place with an elderly person?
Use appropriate officer safety measures and not assume the person is less of a threat.
