Hair
Hair is a keratinous filament growing out of the epidermis. It is primarily made of dead, keratinized cells.
Follicle
The rest of the hair, which is anchored in the follicle, lies below the surface of the skin
shaft
The hair shaft is the part of the hair not anchored to the follicle, and much of this is exposed at the skin’s surface
Root
The hair root ends deep in the dermis
Nails
The nail body is formed on the nail bed, and protects the tips of our fingers and toes as they are the farthest extremities and the parts of the body that experience the maximum mechanical
Free edge
That extends past the flesh of the finger or toe.
Cuticle
The cuticle is a layer of clear skin located along the bottom edge of your finger
The cuticle function is to protect new nails from bacteria when they grow out from the nail root.
Nail root
The area under the cuticle, the hidden part of the nail unit where growth takes place
Sweat Glands
When the body becomes warm, sudoriferous glands produce sweat to cool the body
Pores
Sweat passes through the pores and cools the body down
Eccrine
any of the rather small sweat glands that discharge an odorless watery fluid onto the surface of the skin,
Apocrine
The apical portion of the secretory cell of the gland pinches off and enters the lumen
