Layers of Skin
A
1) Epidermis- outermost layer, contains no blood vessels
2) Dermis- dense connective tissue, contains blood vessels, glands, & hair follicles
3) Hyperdermis- aka Subcutaneous Layer, layer of fat below dermis that stores energy & acts as a cushion for the body

What is Thermoregulation?
A
Blood cells near the surface of the skin dilate allowing for higher blood flow & the release of heat or constrict to reduce blood flow to surface and conserves heat.

Eccrine Glands (function & location)
A
Located in palms of hands and soles of feet.
Release sweat directly onto the surface of the skin
