A
- Children or older adults with less than 2% total body surface area full thickness burns.
- Children or older adults with less than 10% total body surface area partial thickness burns.
- Adults with less than 15% total body surface area partial thickness burns.
- Burns can not involve face, hands, feet, genitalia, perineum, or major joints.

Moderate
A
- Children or older adults with less than 10% total body surface area full thickness burns.
- Children or older adults with less than 10-20% total body surface area partial thickness burns.
- Adults with less than 15-25% total body surface area mixed partial thickness/full thickness burns.
- Burns can not involve face, hands, feet, genitalia, perineum, or major joints.

A
- Children or older adults with greater than 10% total body surface area full thickness burns.
- Children or older adults with greater than 20% total body surface area partial thickness burns.
- Any patient with greater than 25% total body surface area.
- Adults with less than 15-25% total body surface area mixed partial thickness/full thickness burns.
- Any patient with burns to the face, eyes, ears, hands, or perineum.
- If Impairment exists.
- Respiratory complications
