Six T’s

A
  • Time - Note the time
  • Turn - Turn to intercept course or HDG
  • Time - Begin timing
  • Transition - Decelerate, descend, or complete landing checklist as required
  • Twist - Set desired cose in CDI/HSI and/or confirm GPS mode
  • Talk - Make voice report as required

Used at nav checkpoints, IAFs, and FAFs

STINTS

A
  • Select - Select NAV1 or NAV2 depending on approach
  • Tune - Tune the NAVAID frequency
  • Identify - Indentify the morse code frequency
  • Needles - Ensure in VOR or ADF mode
  • Twist - Select the proper course in the HSI/CDI
  • Select - Ensure that the proper NAV source is selected

Used for cockpit set-up for an approach, switching NAVAIDs, and departing from an airfield
