Q

What else other than cr 6+ can give orange colour (similar )

A

Cr2o72-

Don’t lack and say cr 3+ WHEN ITS NOT EVEN THERE

(Can say fe 2+ for fecl2 bevause they acc broken up in ion form. However for cr2072- it’s already broken up)

Q

Explain the role of Haemoglobin with oxygen around oxygen (2)
And why CO is toxic (1)

Using ligand sub ideas

A
  • Haemoglobin contain Fe2+ group, which oxygen BINDS with in dative covalent bonds
  • ligand sub resctions take place, with Co2 ligands replacing the o2, and vice Verca when needed
  • however CO forms much STRONGER bonds with FE2+, AND these are IRREVRSIBLE (thus less harmoglobin active and thus toxic)

Q

How to say why the boiling point because of electrons increases easy way
What word they prefer

A

Lit just say has more electrons, and therefore stringer and MORE London forces (don’t need more than this) and therefore more energy needed to overcome, so stringer

THEY PREFER MORE

Q

How to say why polar / hydrogen bonds makes higher boiling point

A

Just says a forms hydrogen bonds whereas b doesn’t, so more energy needed to overcome, so higher boiling

Don’t long things out

Q

How to do explain why kp changes for pressure 3 markers

A

1) equilborum shift
2) say what happens when pressure increases ( denominator increases more than numerator)
3) so say which side increases more to restore the KP back to what it was! ( must say restore)

Q

How to show electrode potentials in terms of equilbora !

A

Say more negative, hence higher tendency to oxidise, and thus system will shift to the LEFT / right

Say these three things and you’re good,

Q

What is the enthalpy change in terms of endothermic / exothermic of formation of an element and why?

A

For seton element = 0 enthalpy change

This is not ENDO OR EXO !

17
Q

Atom Economy make better place 4 ways

A

Less energy de,and and pressure
- less co2 emission from fuel
- reduce use of toxic substance
- can allow for different reactions with greater atom economy
