Q

Describe the input stage of information processing

A

At the input stage your senses collect information (stimuli) from the environment which is coded by receptors such as proprioceptors which identify internal changes.

This stage also involves perception (interpreting information) and selective attention (ignoring irrelevant information).

Q

Describe the decision-making phase of information processing

A

At the decision-making phase a decision is made about the best way to act.

This decision is made by comparing the stimuli in the environment to your past experiences stored in the long-term memory.

Q

What is the feedback stage of information processing?

A

At the feedback stage of information processing, information regarding the outcome of the physical movement is fed back, in order to inform future performance.
