Ulcerative Colitis (UC) and Crohn’s disease.
What does the person’s immune system does with Ulcerative Colitis?
The immune system identifies the lining of the colon as foreign and attacks it leading to inflammation.
What does the inflammation of Ulcerative Colitis causes?
The inflammation causes the lining to develop ulcers and bleed.
What causes Ulcerative Colitis?
The cause is not known and cannot be cured.
How does the Ulcerative Colitis can be controlled?
With medication.
How’s the condition of Ulcerative Colitis for most people?
With a frustrating patter of flares (condition worsens) and remission (symptoms are absent)

Follows a repeating cycle of intermittent flares and periods of remission.
Is there a cure Crohn’s disease?
No, but there are medicines that keep the disease under control.
If medecine does not control the symptoms of Crohn’s disease what would be the solution?
Surgery, to remove the diseased part of the intestines.
Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn’s disease have similar symptoms such as?
Diarrhea, abdominal pain and weight loss.
Are Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn’s disease the same?
No, they are two distinct diseases and have three key differences.
What does Crohn’s disease can involve ?
The entire GI tract, and is most often found in the last part of the small intestine (ileum) and the colon.
What does the Ulcerative colitis involve?
Usually starts in the rectum and moves up the colon until it stops.
Where does Crohn’s disease can occur?
In all layers of the bowel wall.
