What does the Digestive System do?
Work together to convert food into energy and nutrients to feed the entire body.
What does the digestive tract do?
Eliminates what the body doesn’t absorb during the digestive process.
What are the major components of the DIgestive System?
The Upper GI Tract, Lower GI Tract and Accessory Organs.
What does the Upper GI Tract consist of?
Of the mouth, pharynx, esophagus, and stomach.
What does the Lower Gi Tract consist of?
Of the small and large intestines.
What does the Accessory Organs of the Digestive System consist of?
Of the liver, gallbladder and pancreas.
