- sexual activity
- drug or alcohol use
- caffeine (interferes with muscle contraction of fallopian tubes)
- medication and supplement use
- chronic diseases

When evaluating an infertile couple, what hormone should you evaluate first in the female?
A
Progesterone level on day 21 of cycle
level > 5 indicates ovulation. look for anatomical issues
level < 5 eval cause –> TSH FSH, estradiol, prolactin

A
serum FSH on day 3 of cycle:
increased FSH is associated with poor ovarian response to exogenous gonadotropins and decreased likelihood of successful conception
