What is a genus?

Why is a taxonomic key useful?
Because they help determine the identity of organisms
What are the 3 domains of life?
Bacteria, Archaea and Eukarya
What are Prokaryotes?
Unicellular organisms whose cells lack a nucleus
What is a nucleus?
A dense area in a cell that contains nucleic acids–the chemical instruction that direct the cell’s activities.
What are eukaryotes?
Organisms with cells that contain nuclei.
What is a protists?
Any Eurokaryotic organism that cannot be classified as fungus, plant or animal
What are the two types of prokaryotes?
Archaea and bacteria
What are the four types of eukaryotes?
Protists, Fungi, Plants and animals
