Explain Migrants
12 million Syrians have been forced to leave their homes, with one third of those people leaving Syria completely.
Negative- Death
The UN estimates that 250,000 Syrians died between 2012 and 2015.
Positive- Syrian Services
Fewer people within the country has meant that there is less pressure on overcrowded services such as schools and hospitals.
Negative- Syrian Economy
However there are fewer people in the country to work and as a result the economy is suffering.
Negative- Syrian Trade
Syrian trade was $2.73 billion in 2010 but by 2014 the value was only $0.7 billion.
This means that there is less money to spend on services in the country such as education and healthcare.
Negative- Syrian Education
Due to infrastructure such as schools being destroyed by bombing this will mean that the Syrian people will be less well educated in the future.
Negative- Development of Syria
Therefore people will be less able to get a well-paying job to provide for themselves and their families which will also hinder the overall development of the country.
