Immune-Pharm Flashcards
Cyclosporine
Binds cyclophilins, inhibits calcineurin, inhibiting IL-2 production; post organ transplant; nephrotoxicity (use mannitol), gout
Tacrolimus
Binds FK also resulting in inhibition of calcineurin and reduces IL-2 and other cytokine secretion; for organ transplants etc.; Nephrotoxicity, neuropathy, HTN, hyperglycemia
Sacrolimus
inhibits mTOR and reduces response to IL-2; Hyperlipidemia, thrombocytopenia, leukopenia
Daclizumab
Monclonal antibody against IL-2 recepotr
Drugs affecting IL-2
Cyclosporine, daclizumab, tacrolimus, sacrolimus
Azathioprine
antimetabolite precursor of 6-mercaptopurine, inhibits purine synthesis, toxic buildup in lymph cells; Kidney transplantation; xanthin oxidase metabolizes, don’t give with allopurinol
Muromonab
Anti-CD3 on T cells (CD3 is responsible for signal transduction); Kidney transplant; cytokine release syndrome
Aldesleukin
IL-2 analog; for renal cell carcinoma, melanoma
Epo
anemias dealing with renal failure
Filgrastim
Granulocyte colony stimulating factor
Sargramostim
Granulocyte-macrophage colony stimulating factor
alpha-IFN
IFN-alpha; for Hepatitis B and C, Kaposi’s sarcoma, leukemias, malignant
beta-IFN
For Multiple sclerosis
Gamma-IFN
Chronic granulomatos disease
Oprelvekin
IL-11 analog; for Thrombocytopenia
