COCKPIT DOOR ……… LOCK
NAV ADR 1+2 and 1+3 and 2+3 FAULT
(Triple Double) (Special)
No longer a Memory Item
- Land ASAP
- Standby Instruments Use
Unreliable Speed Indication
Autopilot and autothrust ….. Off
Flight directors ….. Off
If below safe altitude, pitch and thrust:
* Below THR RED altitude ….. 15° and TOGA
* Above THR RED & below 10,000’ MSL … 10° and CLB
* Above 10,000’ MSL … 5° and CLB
Loss of Braking
Brake pedals ….. Release
A/SKID & N/W STRG ….. OFF
Brake Pedals ….. Press, 1000 PSI max
If still no braking:
* PARKING BRK ….. Successive Applications
* Reverse ….. As required
Smoke/Fumes
Oxygen mask and regulators (if required) ….. On, 100%
Crew communications ….. Establish
Emergency Descent
1. Oxygen mask and regulators ….. As required
2. Crew communications ….. Establish
3. SEAT BELTS - ON
4. FCU Altitude - FL 100 or MEA-MORA
5. FCU EXPED - Consider
6. Target speed - confirm 340/.80
7. Thrust - Confirm, THR IDLE
8. Speed Brakes - Extend
9. ENG MODE - IGN/START
10. ATC/Transponder - Notify/Consider 7700
11. If cabin altitude > 14,000:
PAX OXY MASK - MAN ON
12. If cabin altitude < 10,000:
Crew OXY regulators - Normal
What are the critical first steps in any non-normal procedure?
- Fly the Aircraft
- Silence the Warning
- Confirm the Emergency
PF Windshear Recovery Actions
PF
“TOGA Thrust, Stow Speed Brakes”
TAPS
TOGA Thrust
A/P Off
Pitch SRS (17.5° w/o SRS) & roll wings level
Speed brake - check stowed
When clear of windshear event, accelerate and restore automation
PM
- Announce RA and performance trend:
“400 feet climbing”
“500 feet descending”
“300 feet level”
- Report windshear to ATC
“United 422, windshear escape”
“United 422, lost 30 knots at 200 feet”
TCAS Response
TA
TA
- AP as desired
- Visually search for intruder
- Brief PM what you will do if turns into RA (“I will turn off AP, you turn off FDs, and I will adjust pitch to stay in the green”)
RA
- PF: AP OFF, Adjust vertical speed
- PM: FD OFF, notify ATC (“United 320, TCAS RA”)
When clear of contact:
- PF: Re-automate (AOA)
- PM: “Unite 320, clear of conflict returning to assigned altitude”
FM 5.60.17
Reactive Windshear Escape Maneuver
Condition: FACs sense windshear and trigger GPWS warning: “Windshear, windshear, windshear”
or flight instrument indications
Either pilot: “TOGA thrust, stow speed brake”
PF: TOGA, AP OFF, Wings level, rotate toward SRS or 17.5°, Retract Speed Brakes
Go Arounds
- No Contact
- Requiring Minimal Climb
- Not Requiring a Climb
No Contact
1. “Going Around, Flaps 3, Check Thrust”
2. “Positive Rate, Gear Up, Set Missed Approach Altitude”
Requiring Minimal Climb
1. Set New Altitude
2. THR LVR: TOGA, then CLB
3. “Going Around, Flaps __, Check Thrust”
4. Follow normal Go Around procedures
Not Requiring a Climb
1. Manage Flight Path with FCU
2. “Cancel Approach”
3. Reconfigure Normally
4. Resequence as Necessary
5. Rebrief & Approach Checklist
When should Unreliable Speed Indication QRC be accomplished?
CQT Briefing Slide 35
- Airspeed/Mach is suspected erroneous
- ECAM displays ADR CHECK PROC…APPLY
- ECAM displays UNREL SPEED PROC…APPLY
Emergency Landing - All Engine Failure
What is the range when at Green Dot?
-
APU - Start
Fly Green Dot Speed until slowing for approach
Range is approximately 2.5nm per 1000 feet - FLAPS - 2
- VAPP - Determine based on GW
-
If Ditching - Gear Up, DITCHING pb ON
If Hard Surface landing - Arm Spoilers, when landing assured (~1000ft) Gear Down
Prior to touchdown:
5. Brace Signal - “Brace, brace, brace”
For flare:
6. Touchdown - at min V/S
7. Pitch - 5°-8° (11° water)
When stopped:
8. Both ENG MASTERS - OFF
9. APU - As required
10. Evacuation QRC - Consider
