ILT- Anatomy GI vessels, Peritoneum Flashcards
Peritoneum
Continusou transpert serous membrane that lines the abdominopelvic cavity and invests the viscera
Parietal Peritoneum
Lines the internal surface of the abdominopelvic wall
Visceral peritoneum
Covers viscera such as the stomach and intestines
Mesentery
double layer of peritoneum that occurs as result of the invagination of the peritoneum by an organ and constitutes a continuity of the visceral and parietal peritoneum
Omentum
Double-layered extension or fold of peritoneum that passes from stomach and proximal part of duodenum to adjacent organs in the abdominal cavity
Peritoneal ligament
consists of a double layer of peritoneum that connects an organ w/another organ or to the abdominal wall
What is the lesser omentum derived from?
Ventral mesentery
What is the greater omentum derived from?
Dorsal mesentery
The lesser omentum contains waht two ligaments?
Hepatogastric and hepatoduodenal ligaments
Does the spleen develop in the dorsal or ventral mesentery?
Dorsal!
What structure connects the greater and lesser sacs?
Omental formaen (epiploic foramen)
Bounded by the portal vein, hepatic artery and common bile duct
What is the greater sac?
Abdominal cavity outside of the lesser sac
What is the less sac?
Enter through omental foramen
Space behind the lesser omentum (connecting liver and lesser curvature of stomach)
What is another name for the lesser sac?
Omental bursa
Three branches of the celiac trunk?
Left Gastric
Splenic
Common Hepatic
