(으)려면 If One Intends To

And 면 means if or when
Together are (으)려면 meaning “if one intends/wants to..”

Sentences with 려면 often end 야 돼/해, 이/가 필요하다, or imperative ending like 세요, 어/아라
그렇게 비싼 것을 사려면 돈이 많이 필요해요. (Expensive describing the thing, and is the subject you want to buy)
