What is habitus?
Teachers praise middle-class Habitus and deviate working class Habitus
So, the way the teachers interact with pupils forms that identity and the values to produce educational success and failure
The concept of habitus is made by bourdeiu although once class haptics is not better than the other, the middle class has the power to define theirs as superior and impose on the education system
As a result, education system focuses on the middle-class tastes and preferences. This is linked to cultural capital.
What is symbolic capital and symbolic violence?
Schools have a middle-class habitat and against symbolic capital when they gain status and recognition from schools
School devalues working class Habitus and gains symbolic violence where they define wc lifestyle defined as inferior
What is Nike identities?
Symbolic violence of that work in class, seek an alternative ways of creating self-worth status and value
This has created identities which is consumed through branded clothes, such as Nike
