Hypernatraemia
Serum sodium concentration of aboe 145mmol/l

Hypernatraemia is always Hyperosmolar due to:
- unreplaced water loss (dehydration not hypovolaemia)
- Sodium overload
- Water loss in the cells
Patient will not be alert or have access to water
Neurologic symtoms/shrinkage of brain/osmotic demyelination syndrome
