Hydraulics Flashcards
Explain the meaning of a hydraulic pump LOW PRESSURE indication
Output pressure of the associated pump is low
VOL 2 / 13.1.1
Explain the meaning of a hydraulic OVERHEAT indication
Hydraulic fluid used to cool and lubricate the corresponding electric motor driven pump has overheated or the pump itself has overheated
VOL 2 / 13.1.1
Identify where hydraulic fluid quantity and the associated indicator of low quantity
Quantities for the A and B system are displayed on the lower DU by pushing the MFD System (SYS) Switch.
A white refill indication (RF) beside the hydraulic quantity indication indicates low hydraulic quantity.
Low quantity in the Standby Hydraulic reservoir is indicated by the illuminated amber Standby Hydraulic LOW QUANTITY light (always armed) on the Forward Overhead Panel
VOL 2 / 13.1.2 & 13.1.3
Explain the function of the ENGINE HYDRAULIC PUMP Switches
ON - de-energizes blocking valve in pump to allow pump pressure to enter the system
OFF - energizes blocking valve to block pump outpit
Note: normally should remain ON at shutdown to prolong solenoid life. The engine hydraulic pumps, not eletric
VOL 2 / 13.1.1
Recall the independent hydraulic systems and how they are designated
- System A
- System B
- Standby system
VOL 2 / 13.2.1
Explain the function of the ELECTRIC HYDRAULIC PUMP Switches
ON - provides power to associated electric motor-driven pump
OFF - electrical power removed from pump
VOL 2 / 13.1.1
