A

before birth - movement, seeing the ultrasound
immeadietley after birth - skin to skin contact (releases oxytinin hormone), looking at baby, touch, smell
ongoing - caring for the baby, eye contact, rocking the baby to sleep

  • the attachment (or not) influences how the baby will respond to stress, learn behaviour, form relationships and cope in social situations
  • without a secure attachment, emotional development can be negitivley affected

illness - cannot work or do things by yourself
physical decline - mobility/movement effected which makes it difficult to complete tasks
