Q

How is the digestive system supported by respiratory and circulatory?

A

Respiratory: Provides oxygen so the digestive system cells can digest food & Removes carbon dioxide and water that digestive cells produce as waste.

Circulatory: Moves oxygen and glucose around body so cells can do work & Moves cellular waste so they can be disposed

Q

How is the Respiratory system supported by digestive and circulatory?

A

Digestive: Provides diaphragm with nutrients to facilitate breathing

Circulatory: Moves oxygen and glucose around so respiratory cells can perform & removes cellular waste

Q

How is the circulatory supported by respiratory and digestive?

A

Respiratory: Provides oxygen that is carried by red blood cells to all parts of body & Removes carbon dioxide and water that heart cells produce as waste

Digestive system: Provides heart with nutrients so the heart can keep breathing

17
Q

How does structure affect function?

A

How something is arranged allows it to perform a specific job, if structure is altered, function is altered.

18
Q

Why are cells so small?

A

So they can maximize their ratio of SA: V. Mitochondria and chloroplasts have high ratios.

Smaller cells have a higher ratio which allows more things to pass thro the membrane.

Cells are small because they need to be able to get nutrients in and waste out quickly.

19
Q

what is surface area?

A

Area of the outside of the cell, called plasma membrane
