HOSTILITY - angry is not funny - too harsh - manageable emotions are funny: pet peeves, irritations, annoyances - stuff we can live with and laugh at - anger is too dangerous - too personal - too difficult to laugh through anger - much too serious - changes / kills the laughter in the room - audience came for laughs, not a lecture or therapy session
