A

The Four Humours was a belief that a human body consisted of 4 essential fluids: blood, phlegm, black bile and yellow bile.

It was made by Hippocrates.

Reasons for lack of medical progress?

A

1) Science and technology - lack of scientific evidence and understanding, and dissections were illegal.
2) Religion - people thought God controlled illnesses.
3) Key Individuals - Hippocrates and Galen were highly respected and not questioned.
4) Attitudes in society and traditions - illness by demonic superstition or witchcraft.
5) Economy and government - little money funded to medical research (more money on war)
6) Education - No formal education, most people were illiterate.
