Q

What was the myth?

A

Heracles wanted a prophecy however Apollo denies the request. As a result Heracles attempts to steal the tripod where the oracle sits, believing it will allow him to create an Oracle.

This image potentially may have been used by Augustus to show how Apollo represented Augustus while Heracles represented Mark Anthony.

This showcases how the power was Augustus’ rather than Mark Anthony’s.
