What family did Henry’s claim come from?
The Beauforts. They were descended from John of Gaunt, the third son of Edward the third and the head of the House of Lancaster.
How did claims to the throne pass in the tudor times?
Through men and women but women could not rule and it was a weaker claim then one through a man.
Who was John de La Pole?
He was the leading Yorkist claimant. He was the nephew of Edward the fourth and Richard the third and their heir presumptive. He became the focus of resistance to Henry in the start of his reign.
Who was Edward Plantagenet (Earl of Warick.)
A nephew of Edward the 4th and Richard the third. He was only 10 so was easy to control. He spent his youth in the tower.
What year did the Princes in the tower disappear?
1483.
How did Henry secure his reign through marriage?
He married Elizabeth of York, the oldest daughter of Edward the 4th.
