HEME Flashcards
What is R time (TEG) and normal values
time to start forming a clot; 4-8 minutes
Abnormal R time indicates a problem with what, and what is the treatment?
Coagulation factors; tx with FFP
What is K time (TEG) and normal values
Time until clot reaches a fixed strength; 1-3 min
What does an abnormal K time indicate a problem with and what is the treatment?
Fibrinogen; tx with Cryo
What is alpha angle (TEG) and normal values
Speed of fibrin accumulation; 53-72 degrees
What does an abnormal alpha angle indicate and what is the treatment?
Fibrinogen; tx with Cryo
What does an abnormal maximal amplitude on a TEG indicate and what is the treatment?
Platelets; tx with platelets/DDAVP
What does an abnormal LY30 indicate and what is the treatment?
Excess fibrinolysis; tx with TXA and/or aminocaproic acid
