Q

Path of blood through the heart

A

From vena cavae to atriums. 80% flows naturally to ventricles, 20% is ejected when atriums contract. Atriums relax. Ventricles contract, and AV valves (R.tricuspid and L.bicuspid) close. Papillary muscles put tension on chordae tendinae to prevent AV prolapse. Semilunar (R.pulmonary and L.aortic) valves open, blood enters arteries, ventricles relax causing the semilunar valves to close. AV valves open.
