How could you develop good exercise habits on a daily basis?
- make time for exercise in your daily routine
- walk / run / cycle as much as possible instead of bus or car
- get off bus one stop earlier
- join gym or clubs with friends (more enjoyable for you)
What does it mean if you have a good physical well being?
You are injury and disease free.
What does it mean if you have a good mental well being?
You do not suffer from mental illness or high levels of stress or anxiety.
What does it mean if you have a good social well being?
You believe you have some purpose in society and have friends. You have food, clothes and shelter.
What does the word health mean?
A state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.
What does the PLEASED acronym for having good general health stand for?
P ersonal hygiene - keeping clean to avoid illness
L ifestyle- highly stressed / lazy lifestyle will badly affect you health
E motional health - avoid too much stress or anxiety and surround yourself with things that make you feel happy
A cohol / drugs - excessive consumption of these will make you unhealthy and unstable
S afety- avoid injuries and use the correct equipment
E nvironment - noisy environments can cause stress and a lack of sleep, polluted environments cause health problems
D iet - having a well balanced diet keeps you healthy and makes sure you get all the right nutrients your body needs.
