Stimulates growth, especially muscular and bones, potent metabolic effects, stimulates protein synthesis, inhibits breakdown, stimulates fat and carbohydrate breakdown for energy (useful for starvation)

GH Stimulates this for growth of long bone, they are the cartilage zones where all growth occurs
