  3. Norming : members settle into roles ; accepts group norms and set collective goals ; cohesion improves
  4. Performing : Members fulfill role responsibilities ; perform to normative standards ; strive for collective goals ; cohesive group
  5. Adjourning : Group disbands or reverts to earlier stage ; evaluation of group sucesss

  • Process :
    • This is the members interactions directed toward task accomplishment

What is the free rider effect and the sucker effect ?

  • Free rider effect : people lower their effort to get a free ride at the expense of their fellow group members
  • Sucker effect : people lower their effort because of the feeling that others are free riding
