MOA?
A
Nitroglycerin MOA:
- Smooth muscle relaxant acting on vascular, uterine, bronchial, and intestinal smooth muscle
- Decreases preload - reduces workload on the heart by causing blood pooling
- Decreases afterload - arteriolar vasodilation
- Coronary vasodilation increases blood flow to myocardium and decreases myocardial O2 demand

- Angina
- Myocardial infarction
- Congestive heart failure with pulmonary edema

- 0.4 mg SL (Sublingual) tablet or spray, may repeat up to 3 doses every 5 to 10 minutes as long as systolic BP is greater than 90 mmHg
