Abnormal Start
ITT increasing >925, N1 hung, No ITT 10sec
*1. Condition Lever - FUEL OFF
*2. Ignition Switch - HOLD OFF (starter engaged)
*3. Starter - OFF (after 20sec)
*4. Ignition Switch - RELEASE
CAUTION: do not release ign prior to starter off
Emergency Engine Shutdown
chip, abnormal noise/vibes, oil sys fail, prop fail, ground strike, depart runway
*1. Condition Lever - FUEL OFF
*2. Emergency fuel shut off handle - PULL
NOTE: after T-handle pull don’t reset on deck till cause is determined and fixed
Emergency Exit
*1. Canopy - OPEN (emergency open as req)
*2. Battery - OFF
*3. Harness,Cords,Mask - RELEASE
*4. Parachute - UNFASTENED
*5. Aircraft - EVACUATE
WARNING: if AC evac on ground while wearing parachute/lanyard attached will deploy, strong winds may drag pilot back into fireball
Fire on the ground
*1. Starter - OFF (as req)
*2. Emergency engine shutdown - EXECUTE
*3. Emergency Exit - EXECUTE
CAUTION: do not restart till cause of fire determined
Abnormal ITT during Shutdown
rapid rising ITT, smoke/flames from exhaust
*1. Emergency engine shutdown - EXECUTE
*2. Ignition switch - HOLD OFF
*3. Starter - ON (monitor for normal shutdown)
if condition persists/ engine fire light
*4. Starter - OFF
*5. Emergency exit - EXECUTE
Brake Failure
*1. Aircraft - STOP, using other cockpit brakes
WARNING: simultaneous braking in both cockpits may neutralize shuttle valve = loss of brakes
~pumping brakes might help build pressure
~other cockpit brakes may still work
SOLO/OTHR BRAKES INEFF…
*2. Aircraft - maintain directional control and stop using BETA/rudder/remaining brakes
HOLDING POSTN W/BETA…
*3. Aircraft - do not taxi or shutdown till chocked
GOING INTO UNPREPARED TERRN…
*4. Emergency engine shutdown - EXECUTE
WARNING: AC will initially accelerate untill fully feathered
*5. Emergency exit - EXECUTE
