Glucagon - mechanism of action

A

Increases blood glucose level by stimulating the breakdown of glycogen into glucose (glycogenolysis), predominantly in the liver, and excreted in the liver.

A

Hypoglycaemia when the patient cannot swallow glucose/food and IV access cannot be obtained.
