Section

A

The organization level having functional responsibility for primary segments of incident management (Operations, Planning, Logistics, Finance/Administration). The Section level is organizationally between Branch and Command.

A

The number of personnel reporting to any given supervisor. The Span of Control
is typically three to seven individuals or companies, with five being the optimum. This span of
control is variable depending on the type of incident.
