31
Negative environmental impacts of global tourism

32
What is geopolitics
The study of how geography such as location, resources and borders affects politics
33
How does geopolitics affect trade
-trade blocs like the EU promote trade as there are no tariffs -trade wars where sanctions are imposed decreases trade -development of relationships between countries through investment can lead to trade of natural resources, like China investing in Africa
34
How does geopolitics affect migration
-geopolitical conflict like war makes people migrate elsewhere -good geopolitical relationships means open borders, such as EU. Bad ones mean border not open like North Korea and USA -a more powerful and economically developed country attract people for its security and job opportunities
35
How does geopolitics affect tourism
-A country in war will deter people from visiting it in fear of being killed -good geopolitics relationships will mean less restrictions to travel, visa free etc -countries that are geographically closer together will increase tourism as its faster and easier to get there
36
How does a developed country manage migration
UK -has a points based system for immigration based on certain requirement, like their language, skills and income, so ones that are beneficial to society are allowed in -they have criteria for refugees and asylum seekers to be in the UK, including if they are not a danger to the UK/not a criminal, so the UK remains safe
37
How is tourism managed in a developing country
Bhutan: -Sustainable development fee of $250 a day which is used for conservation and new infrastructure -can only go on tour with official tour guides, that follow sustainable practices such as going on marked trails
38
How does a developed country manage tourism
Australia -visitor education centre when visiting GBR on importance on conservation -regulations on where visitors can go to see the GBR, or areas where you need a tour guide to see
