A process that allows the earth to keep some of the heat from the sun.

1) carbon dioxide (burning fossil fuels)
2) methane (digestion of farm animals, decomposing household waste)
3) nitrous oxide (fertilizers for farming)

How does the greenhouse effect work?
1) sun rays are absorbed by the lithosphere
2) when the ground is heated it releases infrared rays into the atmosphere or back into space
3) greenhouse gasses trap infrared rays and send them back to the earth. Therefore heating the earth’s surface even more.
What is global warming caused by? And How ?
Primary human activity.
Humans release a lot of greenhouse gases, causing the atmosphere to trap too much heat.

Changes in the climate, wind, perception etc (also known as climate change)
