Glenohumeral muscles Flashcards
O and I of pectoralis major
O = medial half of clavicle, sternum, and costal cartilages of ribs 1-6
I = Lateral lip of the intertubercular groove
Concentric actions of the pectoralis major
Both heads - adduction, internal rotation and horizontal adduction
Clavicular head - flexion
Concentric actions of the coracobrachialis
Flexion and adduction
O and I of the deltoid
O = Anterior - Lateral 1/3 of the clavicle
Middle - Acromion process
Posterior - Spine of the scapula
I = Deltoid tuberosity of the humerus
Concentric actions of deltoid
All three portions acting together = Abduction
Anterior - Flexion, Horizontal adduction
Posterior- Extension, Horizontal abduction
O and I of the latissimus dorsi
O = Inferior angle of the scapula
* T7-T12 spinous processes
* Ribs 9-12
* Thoracolumbar fascia
* Posterior crest of the ilium
I = Intertubercular groove of the humerus
Concentric actions of the latissimus dorsi
Extension, adduction and internal rotation
Concentric actions of the teres major
SAME AS LATTISUMIS DORSI
extension, adduction and internal rotation
4 rotator cuff muscles
Supraspinatus, Infraspinatus, Teres minor, Subscapularis
SITS muscles
Concentric action of the supraspinatus
Abduction
Concentric actions of the infraspinatus and teres minor
External rotation, Horizontal abduction
Concentic action of the subscapularis
Internal rotation
