Procedure

A
  • tested individually
  • repeated measures design
  • first: 3 5 word practice lists to learn procedure
  • second: shown 15 15 word lists on a screen with projector
    –each word shown for 1 sec, 2 sec intervals between words
    – each word read aloud by experimenter
  • last: After each list, shown either a # or number 0-9.
    – If #, started writing down as many words as they could remember
    – If number 0-9, told to count starting from number until experimenter said they could start writing

3 conditions: immediate, 10 sec delay, and 30 sec delay recall
