History- Created in 1891 in Yokohama, Japan by Louis Eppinger at the Grand Hotel

Prep-Pour Prosecco over purees in glass. Stir gently
Presentation-Champagne Flute
History-Created by Giuseppe Cipriani at his original Cipriani in Venice, Italy before the beginning of WWII but after 1934 when the bar opened. The color of the cocktail matched a Saints toga in a 15th century painting by Giovanni Bellini. Ernest Hemingway and Orson Wells drank these.

Sherry Cobbler

Pre Prohibition Family-Cobblers
3 1/2oz Amontillado Sherry 1/2 tablespoon of sugar
2-3 orange slices
Prep-Muddle orange slices and sugar at the bottom of the serving glass. Add the Sherry on top and cover with crushed ice.
Presentation-Cobbler or Old Fashioned glass, various citrus fruits and berries.
History-Origin unknown, Dave Wondrich is able to place it in the 1830’s with an entry about the sherry cobbler in a random travelers diary he came across. Charles Dickens includes it in his 1844 “The life and adventures of Martin Chuzzeiwit”

3/4oz simple syrup 1 egg white 1 dash Angostura bitters
Prep-Shake all ingredients except bitters with ice and strain into the glass. Garnish the glass with a dash of bitters

Prep-Muddle cucumber and simple syrup in tin. Add remaining ingredients, shake with ice, fine strain into a glass, top with soda.
