Neuroleptics - Compazine, Phenergan, Inapsine
Uses: severe N/V. Inapsine used for prevention of N/V during surgical and diagnostic procedures. Adverse = dry mouth, drowsiness, hypo or HTN.
Prokinetics - Reglan
Uses: prevent post-op N/V & chemo antiemetic. Also used for GERD. Adverse = dry mouth, diarrhea, drowsiness, hypotension.
Serotonin Blockers - Zofran
Uses: prevent post-op N/V & chemo antiemetic. Adverse = HA, diarrhea, dizziness, transient elevation in AST & ALT
Cannaboids - Marinol
Uses: Marijuana-derived antiemetic, chemo antiemetic. Adverse = euphoria, anxiety, drowsiness, dizziness, visual disturbances.
Anticholinergics - Transerm-Scop
Uses: motion sickness, give prophylactically. Adverse = dry mouth, blurred vision, drowsiness, urinary retention, disorientation, constipation.
Antihistamines - Antibert, Dramamine
Uses: motion sickness, give prophylactically, allergy symptoms, sedation & N/V. Adverse = dry mouth, sedation, blurred vision, urinary retention.
Misc. - Emetrol
Uses: Indicated for N/V associated w/ high dose chemo
Misc. - Vistaril
Uses: antianxiety and sedative. Antiemetic, antinausea
Misc. - Decadron
Uses: unlabeled use as a chemo antiemetic
