A
  1. EGD
  2. Angiogram = brisk bleed, Tagged RBC = slow bleed, Colonoscopy = no active bleed
  3. Pill cam = do if all others negative

Treatment for Esophageal varicies

A

BB for prophylaxis, Octreotide for active, Balloon tamponade if need to stop asap!
can also do: caudry or banding

What is Dieulafoy Lesion? tx?

A

anatomic varient causing a superficial artery that gets eroded by gastritis/ulcers causing sudden massive UGI bleed requiring a SUBTOTL GASTRECTOMY!
