Trade is done peacefully and the location of salt and gold mines are kept secret.
Name and explain the two reasons Ghana rose to power.
1-they controlled the gold and salt trade.
-they developed a taxing system that taxed
people when they entered and when they left
-Ghana rulers did not allow commoners to
own gold nuggets only gold dust
2-they conquered neighbors that might attack them
Name the three reasons Ghana fell.
1- invasion. Two-internal rebellion. Three-overgrazing.
Explain why invasion caused Ghana to fall.
The Muslims from the north invaded and took control of Ghana’s trade routes.
Explain why internal rebellion caused Ghana to fall.
Areas that they conquered rebelled against the rulers and they couldn’t keep control of the area.
Explain why overgrazing caused Ghana to fall.
The Muslims brought in all their cattle that ate the grass which made the soil erode and people starved and rebelled.
Farmers moved away and Ghana lost a lot of wealth.
Why did Ghana settle where did?
It was by many rivers, was in the Sahel, and for the salt and gold trade.
