What kind of genes are sickle cell and cystic fibrosis genes?
Recessive
What autosomal dominant inheritance?
Each child has 50% chance of inheriting the mutation.
No skipped generations.
Equally transmitted by men and women.
Male to male transmission.
Eg achondroplasia or Huntington’s disease
What is X linked/ sex linked inheritance?
Only makes affected classically. Can skip generations. Unaffected women and affected men can transmit condition. No male to male transmission. Eg duchenne muscular dystrophy

Mixture of DNA, proteins and RNA that package DNA in the nucleus.

Histones being enzymatically modified.
Histones being displaced.

5’ to 3’
When are chromosomes most visible/compact?
Metaphase.
