What is the Cut and Run policy?

A

In the event that we are unable to find or rectify the fault, the cut and run policy allows us to move a train by isolating safety systems or providing other assistance (rescue train)

A

. The movement of the train will be authorised by the Duty Service Delivery Manager and Fleet maintenance controller as well as the signaller

A

If the end door is isolated the customers would need to be evacuated into the other coach and the roller shutter brought down with all doors inside locked

When would you need to evacuate a coach on a165/6?

A

If an end door is isolated, the coach would be evacuated. The end door into the cab can only be accessed using a key, and we discourage passengers alighting from the cab door

What should you do when you get a door fault?

A

check the simple things first, fault find/discuss with driver

What would be the next steps if the bil light still remained on?

A

The driver would need authorisation to isolate a safety system on board (raise the TIS)
sometimes control are unaware of what to do and will tell the driver to isolate the TIS and EBS

What would you do if the fault was an external door release?

A

(Applies to all traction) If the door has not closed properly try and close it again, physically check all doors are closed

A

check all PCAs including those in toilets on units. The BIL will stay on in the affected coach so you can narrow down the problem

A

Reset the butterfly, it may have been used by you or the driver to access the cab

A

Reset the egress. If activated, it should initiate a hussle alarm, and passengers may be aware if someone was activated it
