what are some behaviours to look out for on your PTI?
People close to the platform edge, leaning on the train, getting on or off when train doors are closing, running/ pushing, hesistation, struggling with luggage
Name some platform hazards
Children on the line, crowded platform, infrequent travellers, distracted passengers, visually/ hearing impaired, intoxicated passengers
PTI, what can we do?
use whistle, make announcements, yellow line, tactiles, signage, white lines, up to date information
Upon arrival at a station, what should you be doing?
Wait at a door that has a panel, make sure the train stops, check all doors are platformed, release doors if applicable
label the door panel

What should you do before accepting the 1 st tip?
Check your signal, check the time, monitor dispatch corridor, assess PTI risks
What is the official name of the 2nd tip?
Train safety check
What should you do before accepting the 2nd tip?
Check signal again, check time, observe doors, check BIL lights, monitor dispatch corridor assess PTI risk, check signal again
Upon departure of the train what should you be doing?
Remain keyed in at panel, be ready to stop, watch the train leave the platform
How can you stop a train in an emergency?
PCA (passenger communication apparatus), press and hold the green signal button, emergency brake, emergency brake plunger
What does 1 the buzzer mean?
