General Flashcards
What is in the Quick Access section of the FCOM ?
Temporary Abnormal Bulletins
Adverse Weather
Approach
Green operating procedures
LVO
What is in the Normal supplementary procedures section ?
Adverse Weather
Engine
Fuel
GPS
Landing Gear
Miscellaneous
What is the tolerance concerning hoarfrost during the walkaround ?
Hoarfrost on upper fuselage provided you can still read markings through it
and
3mm of frost under the wings
(see supp procedure)
If OAT < -15 ° C, what are the consequences on avionics and APU ?
APU should be started with ground power
Avionics: displays may not work, IRS alignment may take 15min.
When and how do you complete engine ice shedding on ground ?
When: Icing conditions + OAT =< 3°C
How: every 30min (10min if freezing rain/drizzle/fog or heavy snow ) apply N1 70% for 30s (no time for the “special cases”) and when lined up for departure.
What is the rate of cooling of the fuel in cruise ? How can you manage temperature ?
Std = -3°C/h
Extreme=-12°C/h
Lower altitude, greater temperature
+0,01M = +0.7°C of TAT
When runway is contaminated which autobrake do you use ?
Autobrake MED
If the ECAM does not display the NW STRG DISC memo, but the ground crew confirms that the tow pin is in the towing position, can you start the engines during pushback ?
No, to avoid possible damage to the nose landing gear upon green hydraulic pressurization. (SOP)
If during engine start the ground crew report a fuel leak, what do you do ?
Run the engine at idle for 5 min. If the leak disappears during these 5 min, the aircraft can be dispatched without maintenance action. If the leak is still present after 5 min, shut down the engine and request the maintenance personnel to investigate the leakage source.
What landing performance should you check if you plan to land on a wet runway with IDLE reverse only ?
Perform a landing performance assessment with:
- MEDIUM TO POOR LD < LDA
-No reverse credit
Can you use Terrain On ND if ACCURACY LOW ?
No (SoP)
What do you check before arming APPR on an ILS approach ?
- cleared for approach
- on the interception trajectory
- LOC is available
Max altitude deviation in RVSM airspace ?
150 ft max
When do you have to perform an early stabilized approach ?
Mandatory:
10kt tailwind on ground
ILS raw data
Highly recommended:
Selected approach
Circling approach
Overweight landing
Unreliable airspeed
Dual hydraulic failure
Abnormal slat/flaps configuration
What do you in find in normal supplementary procedures / adverse weather ?
Ground operations in heavy rain
Operations on contaminated airport
Ground operations in cold weather
Engine operations on ground in icing conditions
Airframe deicing and anti icing procedure on ground
Minimum speed with ice accretions
Securing the aircraft in cold soak
Draining water
Operations with volcanic ash, sand or dust
