A

When: Icing conditions + OAT =< 3°C
How: every 30min (10min if freezing rain/drizzle/fog or heavy snow ) apply N1 70% for 30s (no time for the “special cases”) and when lined up for departure.

Q

If the ECAM does not display the NW STRG DISC memo, but the ground crew confirms that the tow pin is in the towing position, can you start the engines during pushback ?

A

No, to avoid possible damage to the nose landing gear upon green hydraulic pressurization. (SOP)

9
Q

If during engine start the ground crew report a fuel leak, what do you do ?

A

Run the engine at idle for 5 min. If the leak disappears during these 5 min, the aircraft can be dispatched without maintenance action. If the leak is still present after 5 min, shut down the engine and request the maintenance personnel to investigate the leakage source.

16
Q

When you have a flat tyre on nose gear, in what position the parking brake should be ?

A

ON, to prevent yaw moment at brake release.

17
Q

You should not start emergency descent in case CAB PR EXCESS CABIN ALT ECAM alert but without confirmation on SD page. True or False ?

A

False. You should start emergency descent even without confirmation and FL>160. This is the only exception to the ECAM management rule. (Cf FCTM) If FL<160 , deal with ECAM and initiate a «normal» descent

18
Q

What are the mandatory equipment for RVSM operations ?

A

2 ADR (some MSN require ADR 1 + 2)
2 PFD / 2 DMC
1 AP / 1 FCU channel
1 FWC
1 XDER

19
Q

Quelle est la vitesse en atmosphère turbulente ?

A

M 0,76 ou 275kt
< FL200 = 250kt

/!\ voler au FL OPT (ou en dessous du FL OPT pour A321) pour conserver une bonne marge par rapport au 2nd régime. Sinon Vturb ~ Gdot

20
Q

What landing configuration do you use if there is a risk of windshear ?

A

CONF 3 (more energy and less drag). Also used in case of severe turbulences
CONF FULL is used in case of moderate turbulence. Provides better maneuverability

21
Q

After landing flow: OAT >30°C, do you retract flaps ? Why ?

A

You retract flaps but only to CONF 1 position, as it prevents overheat to be detected around bleed ducts and avoid a spurious AIR L(R) WING LEAK alert

22
Q

Which conditions prevents you to retract flaps after landing and request an inspection of the ground crew after the engines shutdown before retraction?

A

Icing conditions during approach or snow/slush on runway

23
Q

How much time after engines shutdown you cannot taxi out N-1 ?

A

4h

24
Q

Quand est-ce que un moteur est considéré comme froid, et donc le roulage N-1 déconseillé ? Quelle est la durée de chauffe préconisée ?

A

Après 4h de repos. 2 min de chauffe si moteur chaud

25
Q

If you land with 15kt tailwind what is the mandatory landing technique and configuration ?

A

CONF FULL and stabilized approach

26
Q

Until what flaps configuration can you use speedbrakes ?

A

A318: FULL (no autoretraction)
A319/320: 3
A321: 2

27
Q

What is the speedbrakes authority if you are under AP ?

A

A318/319/321: Full authority
A320: 1/2

28
Q

After landing, when do you select brake fan ?

A

SOP
If brake temperature are likely to exceed 500°C —> immediately
If not wait 5 min or approaching gate

29
Q

What are the key points of a LOC approach or VOR/NDB using FPA guidance ?

A
  • LOC or NAV armed (cleared, on interception trajectory, LOC dev ) available —> Bird ON
  • FDP-1Nm: select FPA, FDP-0.3Nm: pull FPA
  • Xcheck Dist vs Alt (tolérance 0,3Nm)

In case of VOR/NDB check accuracy High to perform NAV-FPA, otherwise TRK-FPA

30
Q

What are the key points of a VOR or NDB approach using FINAL APP?

A
  • check T°
  • max 0,1° GP - 1° lat
  • Nav accuracy High
  • when TO wpt = FDP, arm APPR
  • VDEV & blue arrow
  • check alt at FAF & waypoints (FDP, SDF …)
  • FD ok down to MAPt (if reliable)
  • Downgrade to NAV FPA or TRK FPA if needed
31
Q

What are the key points of an LNAV/VNAV approach or LNAV in FINAL APP approach ?

A
  • check equipments
  • check T°
  • max 0,1° GP - 1° lat
  • Nav accuracy High + GPS PRIMARY
  • Baro ref confirm
  • when TO wpt = FDP, arm APPR
  • VDEV & blue arrow
  • check alt at FAF & waypoints (FDP, SDF …)
  • FD ok down to MAPt (if reliable)
  • Switch AP-FD in case Nav accuracy downgrade or GPS Primary lost on one ND
  • Go around: Vdev 3/4 dot, XTRK > 0,3Nm, NAV FM/POS disagree, or Nav accuracy downgrade or GPS Primary lost on both ND
32
Q

Can you revert to NAV-FPA in case vertical guidance is not satisfactory during an LNAV approach in FINALAPP mode ?

A

Yes

33
Q

What are the key points of a LNAV approach using NAV-FPA ?

A
  • check equipments
  • check Nav accuracy High + GPS Primary

34
Q

What are the three ways to initiate diversion in the MCDU ?

A

1/ Lat rev on Diversion wpt: NEW DEST + revision of temporary flight plan
2/ SEC FPLN: do same as 1/ and HDG mode and activate then DIR TO.
3/ Waypoint of diversion: ENABLE ALTN + revision of temporary flight plan then DIR TO
