Causes (5)
A
1- Mucosal damage from use of Aspirin or other NSAIDS (commonest cause)
2- Infections (cytomegalovirus and herpes simplex virus)
3- Alcohol in high concentrations
4- Severe stress (stress ulcer) and burns (Curling’s ulcer)
5- Renal and liver disease

A
Indigestion, vomiting, and haemorrage

A
Erosions = superficial breaks in the mucosa (<3 mm) and subepithelial hemorrhage

Treatment
A
PPI with removal of the offending cause if possible
