Plummer Vinson Syndrome (5)
A
1- Triad of cervical esophageal web, dysphagia, and iron-defeciency anemia
2- Non-circumferential web in the proximal (upper) esophageous —> needs dilatation if significant obstruction
3- Iron replacement —> rapid resolution of dysphagia
4- Others: glossitis, angular cheilitis, koilonychia, splenomegaly, enlarged thyroid
5- May transform into squamous cell carcinoma

A
1- Scarring/tightening of the distal (lower) esophageous
2- From acid reflux, associated with hiatal hernia
3- Treated by endoscopic pneumatic dilatation
